Optimal PC Liquid – Key Benefits and Actions*
- Soy-free formula
- May help support cognitive health
- May help support healthy cellular membranes
- May help support healthy liver and muscle tissues
Optimal PC Liquid by Seeking Health provides 5,200 mg of phospholipids from non-GMO sunflower oil (containing about 12% (w/w) phosphatidylcholine) without the common use of soy. Although phospholipids can be found in a wide variety of foods such as meat, eggs, and soy, some individuals including vegans and vegetarians may benefit from supplementation. It may also become more difficult for choline to pass through the blood-brain barrier with age.*
Phosphatidylcholine (PC) may help provide the building blocks of healthy cell membranes which may help maintain healthy brain function. PC is a precursor to acetylcholine which is a major neurotransmitter in both the brain and the peripheral nervous system. It is also important for cardiovascular support through the maintenance of lipid metabolism. PC may help support healthy liver function by aiding in maintaining healthy liver cells and normal processing of fat and cholesterol in the liver. This may help maintain the normal detoxifying capacity of the liver. PC may help replenish choline in the blood after intense exercise, supporting healthy energy levels and normal muscle recovery.*
Optimal PC also contains two other types of phospholipids, phosphatidylethanolamine and phosphatidylinositol. Phosphatidylethanolamine is a key building block of cell membrane bilayers. It can be transformed into PC, but this phospholipid may also play a role in the assembly of membrane proteins. It may help support the normal orientation of enzymes in the inner membrane. Phosphatidylinositol is present in all tissues and cell types, especially brain tissue. Derivatives of this phospholipid serve as messenger molecules with the nervous system.*
For a lower dose of this soy-free phospholipid blend in an easy-to-swallow softgel, consider Seeking Health’s Optimal PC Softgels. If you are looking for phosphatidylserine, a compound derived from phospholipids in sunflower lecithin, consider Seeking Health’s Phosphatidyl Serine.*
